En me concentrant à la fois sur un espace naturel et un espace domestique, j’identifie des éléments et construit un dialogue entre les notions d’enracinement et de déracinement, de mémoire et d’oubli, de pérennité et de vulnérabilité. J’ai pensé aux vivaces comme à des plantes survivantes. Elles résistent aux saisons, aux temps cléments comme arides, elles reviennent, pour la plupart, années après années. Dans le cadre de cette recherche, l’espace du jardin agit ici comme espace double. C’est un espace de travail et de dédication, mais aussi de survivance et de transmission, une fiction pour pouvoir aborder ta vie avant la déportation. Ici, la mémoire est intimement liée à l'espace domestique, plus précisément aux rituels et à l'espace relationnel activés autour de la table à manger. La table devient ainsi un lieu métaphorique au sein duquel des éléments anodins, investis par les interactions, deviennent le réceptacle d'une transmission, de récits, d'une expérience vécue, jamais entière et intégrée, souvent transmis par bribes. La table devient ainsi un espace par lequel différents motifs agissent comme des tropes mémoriels et motivent un espace de projection, tantôt remémoré, tantôt fantasmé : un espace post-mémorial. Par la réutilisation d'archives photographiques et filmiques familiales, le projet déconstruit la linéarité temporelle et fait émerger des temporalités qui cohabitent par leurs anachronismes. Here, memory is intimately linked to the domestic space, more specifically the rituals and relational space activated around the dining table. The table thus becomes a metaphorical space within which anodyne elements, invested by interactions, become the recipient of a transmission, of narratives, of a lived experience, never whole and integrated, often transmitted by snippets. Débutée en 2018, cette recherche prend pour point de départ des documents historiques du camp de concentration de Dachau (1933- 1945) provenant des archives Bad Arolsen. Ici, le travail de l’artiste repose sur les rapports (et tensions) entre savoir historique et savoir émotionnel suscités par les documents. À cet égard, une double identité du document d’archive est ici explorée : ce que le document révèle et ce qu’il cache. En ce sens, une réflexion autour de la part déniée du document d’archive émerge grâce à une exploration du médium photographique. Dans cette recherche, des documents et photographies cohabitent pour interroger l’entrelacement de récit historiques et personnels. Ainsi, une relecture des documents s’effectue grâce à la transformation et aux combinaisons de ceux-ci. Ancrée dans la recherche, ce projet se consacrera à explorer une manière d’écrire et de transmettre en faisant image. Black Box 2020 - ongoingwith the support of Axenéo7, Gatineau (Ca) archival photographs and photograms on ilford paper This project attempt to reflect on the connections between testimonial, archives and intergenerational transmission. Begun in 2018, the research is based on historical documents of the Dachau concentration camp (1933-45) kept at the Bad Arolsen archives. Here, the artist's work builds on the relationships (and tensions) between historical and emotional knowledge raised by the documents. The dual identity of the archival document is thus explored here: what it reveals and what it conceals. In this sense, a reflection on the negated part of the archival document emerges through an exploration of the photographic medium. Documents and photographs coexist in this research to probe the intertwining of historical and personal narratives. A re-reading of the documents is thus achieved through their transformation and combinations. Rooted in research, this project focus on exploring a way of writing and conveying through images. Angular walls are to evoke a feeling of uncertainty. Black or grey as the basic colour convey an allusion of danger and horror. Stainless steel and bright neon light communicate an impression of modernity. Rusty iron generates a sense of decay, brutal secrets, harshness, and relates to the materiality of weapons. Metaphorically charge-up materials and colours are one element used in functional exhibition designs.
